Have you ever heard?

I had once heard of an old scroll or stone tablet that had writing that was in a language that has never been known. At the bottom of the scroll or stone tablet it said in Latin that whoever could read the message would have eternal life. It is not the Voynich Manuscript, although it is an alluring mystery. In any case this an oral tale and I don't think it has been documented. With love, Cookie

Don't believe it!

I've read some pretty ignorant articles that swear no kids cross the border. Here you go. They were just dropped off at the bus station. The agent didn't walk them to the bus station nor did he make sure they got their bus ticket. A few minutes later the volunteers from the church nearby came and took them. You know what they do at the church? They do as the Holy Bible says, "Love thy neighbor." They shower them, they clothe them, and they give them food. They are not shunned as some so called "Christians" like to do nowadays. Whether I'd be to another country or city within the U.S., the church volunteers make sure they board the correct bus. The kid was a bit dirty but he looked healthy. No sign of virus. The lady looked a bit lost but went to the bus station as instructed. She didn't run to hide. She looked healthy as well. The little boy was jumping around happily. The innocence shined through. People wish them death? Rise above the s

Birthday celebration for Hindu deity, Ganesha (Ganesh Cha Thurthi)

Out of pure curiosity I had gone to the nearest Hindu temple I knew of to see what it was like. I didn't see anyone around and decided to explore by myself. However, I was frightened at the sight of a statue and I quickly ran. Picture the scene where Snow White is alone in the forest and begins to see things and runs frantically about only instead of falling to the ground, I safely got into my car. Not one to admit defeat I returned...two months later, but I returned. I parked and saw nobody around but I knew there must be people inside the temple. I walked around and didn't see anyone. I walked to the place where I had seen the statue; I wanted to face what frightened me. It was Shiva staring at me from a glass window! I had seen him in pictures while studying mythology before. Just then I heard a "Hey!" behind me. I was glad to see a live human when I turned around. Had I seen another statue I would've sworn the place off! He was an aide and he kindly inform

Where is your humanity?

With so many news articles providing different versions of what's happening at our border, I tasked myself this past month and a half to finding out the truth. I have been to the places where they are sent. I stayed hours at the bus station where they send them off. As I stated above, it has been a month and a half and I've not had any symptoms of any kind of disease they are supposedly spreading. I have a weak immune system and I’ve also not had the chicken pox. This leads me to believe there is no diseases or I am vaccinated against whatever ill they may carry. I have also gone to one of the churches that gives them 'refuge'. The people are dropped off at the bus station and are given orders to board their bus. Instead of having them waiting at the bus station sweating and hungry, the church invites the people over to take showers, eat, and be clothed. They also offer a place where they can rest if their bus ride is until the next day. The church is prompt in

Thai restaurant 9th year anniversary celebration

Today my husband surprised me by waking me up from my late slumber and ordering me to get up and get ready. While I was thinking he couldn't have been more rude, the question, why, came out. He is not a morning person so either it was an emergency or the fabled zombie apocalypse had happened. Neither had happened. He had simply won a reservation at a restaurant for us both and we were going to be late. Food at a restaurant I'd never heard of? I'm there! We entered the restaurant and the pleasant hostess greeted us at the door. Our reservation was confirmed and we were told to sit where we pleased. Much to our delight we saw my husband's best friend. We were promptly asked what type of beverage we would like to drink. We were given two options, water or Thai iced tea. I of course requested something I had never tried before, the Thai iced tea, while my husband played it safe with water. I must say the tea was absolutely delicious, the best I've tasted so
