29th Birthday Celebration!

Image
I have travelled to Orlando, Florida! This was a complete whirlwind idea. My best friend and I decided to travel together for the first time. We had an excuse, well two. First, my birthday was around the corner and second, we needed to visit one of our best friends that lives in Florida. Was there another influence in our decision? Yes! Tickets were on special! We woke up early to catch our flight and arrived in the afternoon. We were greeted by our best friend and the lovely sun. Boy, was it hot! After much excitement of seeing each other again after a year. She took us to a Turkish restaurant she frequents. The restaurant had amazing food. I had heard about Turkish tea when I was in college and wanted to try it ever since. Today I had the pleasure of tasting it. I had been told the tea was strong and they described it perfectly. After our delicious lunch we headed over to her place, our gracious host had a surprise in store for us and we loved it! She has inform

"Mexican Night"

My mother had always wanted to do a Mexican heritage inspired party but never had the time to do one. This year she planned and executed it. She decided to do it on Mexican Independence Day, September 16th, and it was perfect! She wanted to keep everything original and used the traditional recipes my grandmother taught her. My father used the cooking instruments that are traditionally used in Mexico to cook some of the food. We even used jarritos to drink, which are my favorite! My mother invited her neighbors and our  family members. She encouraged them to bring a dish traditionally done in the Mexican State they were from before becoming US citizens or where their ancestors previously lived. Here are a few of the dishes that were brought.  Entomatadas de queso: Frijoles a la charra:  Mole poblano: Huevos con nopal: Arroz Mexicano: Flautas:

Hushed Astronauts?

When astronauts are questioned about UFOs in space some laugh it off and others are silenced. Why is that? Astronaut Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper was on the space shuttle, Atlantis. Space shuttle Atlantis had to postpone landing on Earth for 24 hours in September 2006, because there was a mysterious object obstructing the way. The object was said to have been a small ice cloud but this held no merit and they could not come up an explanation of what it was. The mysterious object was later seen and pictured flying around the shuttle while landing. Shortly after landing the astronauts were brought to a welcoming home ceremony. When Heidemarie Stefanyshyn-Piper took the stage to share her experience in space and describe her space walk, she fainted, twice. She was then taken off the stage and it was claimed she was suffering from the effects of adjusting to gravity. Many think she was suffering from post stress syndrome after seeing something significant and unexplained in space.

UFO conference

I've recently been de-cluttering my home office and I am finding old writings that I meant to post on my blog but for one reason or another I didn't. Mostly laziness. I found one I was looking for a while back in my endless USBs. Back in the year 2010 I attended a UFO conference by Jaime Maussan. Jaime Maussan is a famous Mexican journalist. He is known for his research in UFOs. He's been heavily criticized and I understand some people may not agree with his findings. This is only a resume of his conference and I do not intend to make anyone's mind up. With that said, here is what I'd written. Make what you will of it. _____________________________________________________________________ February 06, 2010 Jaime Maussan UFO Conference Yesterday I heard that there would be a UFO conference hosted by Jaime Maussan a few blocks away from my job. I was really excited because I've always wanted to attend one but not many or any are hosted here. I immedia
