Are past lives and claims of soul mates, linked?

Do you believe in past lives? Do you feel like you were born in another time, another millennium? What if you are repeating the same story, but in another lifetime? Were you destined to meet the same people? Is there such a thing as a soul mate? Someone who you share the same interests, thoughts, and beliefs?

People claim to have had an encounter with someone who they feel they have met before. No, I don't mean the usual, "I feel like we've met before", after a few coffee drinks and talks over past relationships. I mean the type where there is deeper meaning. Did you ever look at someone and feel absolutely drawn to him or her? You are unable to explain it, but feel like your bones have been rattled within. The attraction level of the person is of no matter to you. Is that feeling what they mean by finding "the one" or is it different?

I recently read about Dorothy Louise Eady - a lady also known as Om Seti. When she was three years of age she fell down a flight of stairs. Soon thereafter she began to tell her parents that she wanted to ‘go home’ even though she was already at her home. While visiting the Egyptian exhibition at the British Museum with her parents, Dorothy kissed all the statues feet and questioned where the gardens of her home were. She refused to leave that part of the museum claiming she was home and among her people. Dorothy later claimed to have been a priestess in Ancient Egypt in her past life and made a discovery of a garden at Temple of Seti I in Abydos.

There are best friends, both opposite sex and same sex, who claim that they are soul mates but feel nothing. It is a platonic friendship. In this case would you easily rule out, 'the one'? I’ve heard some homosexuals say they feel that they were born women/men, but the body they are in is incorrect. I began to ask myself, are our souls reborn?

With love,
Cookie
